Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United States. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the company. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank to date. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February of 2020. Her biggest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, the family relied on the delivery of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father, who was a drunk at times too much and behaved towards her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, especially after he'd consumed some drinks. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education, later learning that she was dyslexic. Corcoran started the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
