Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first woman to be elected vice president, and she is also the highest-ranking female officer in American history. Harris is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. In addition, she served as a United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, before being recruited to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. The office was named San Francisco district attorney in 2003. She was elected Attorney General of California in 2010, and then re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As senator, she fought for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling of cannabis, a pathway to citizenship for immigrants who are not legal and the DREAM Act, a ban on assault weapons, as well as progressive tax reform. Her name is well-known due to her direct questions to Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
